Billing & Insurance
Thrive Speech and Wellness, LLC is a private-pay practice. We kindly request that families maintain a credit card on file for ease of billing. We accept credit cards as well as HSA and FSA card payments. You will receive a receipt with transaction details and services rendered.
For assessments, we request payment at the time of scheduling to reserve your appointment time. For therapy sessions, payment will be collected at the end of each visit.
As an out-of-network provider, we will gladly provide you with a monthly superbill with specific diagnostic and treatment codes that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. As out-of-network benefits vary among insurance carriers and plans, reimbursement for services is not guaranteed.

We require a comprehensive assessment before starting therapy to determine your child's areas of strength and individualized needs to ensure a successful progression through therapy.
If you have had an assessment completed within the last six months by another provider, please share it with us so we can determine if the assessment includes the relevant information that's needed to inform therapy goals related to your concerns. -

Thrive Speech and Wellness currently provides in-person therapy services. Our office is located in the Macarthur Plaza, Cabin John, Maryland, less than a mile inside the Capital Beltway. Maryland families take Exit 41 (River Road), while Virginia families take Exit 40 (Clara Barton Parkway). Our office suite is located above the retail shops. It is easiest to access the building from the back parking lot off of 79th Street. Free parking is available on site.

Telehealth services for residents of Maryland and Washington, DC are available as deemed appropriate for selective services.

As a pediatric healthcare provider and a mom, I understand that illness and family emergencies occur. Progress depends on participation and we want to make the most of our time together. Thrive Speech and Wellness does not charge in the event your child is sick or a family emergency arises.
If you need to cancel your appointment for reasons other than illness or a family emergency, we kindly request you notify us 24 hours in advance to avoid a full session charge. In the event we are able to reschedule the appointment to another time slot during the week, the cancellation fee will be waived.
Late arrivals and missed sessions will incur a full session charge.

Thrive Speech & Wellness primarily works with the pediatric population; however, we do work with adults who are in need or orofacial myofunctional services and/or articulation services.

We offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to discuss your needs and answer your questions prior to scheduling a comprehensive 60-minute evaluation.
We offer a 30 minute in-person consultation and screening to meet your child, discuss your needs, and complete a screening to determine if a comprehensive evaluation is needed. You will be provided a brief summary of the findings. If a comprehensive 60-minute evaluation is recommended, Thrive Speech and Wellness will credit the screening fee towards the evaluation if scheduled within 45 days. -
Treatment sessions are typically once weekly for 30 or 45 minutes, with the last 5-10 minutes reserved for recapping the session and reviewing home practice recommendations. Some children may benefit from shorter, more frequent interactions rather than engaging in therapy for longer periods of time. Based on our care plan recommendations, therapy goals, and input from families, we will determine the best plan that will keep your child engaged and motivated in therapy sessions.

Absolutely! Family participation encourages meaningful and functional progress to continue outside of therapy sessions.

Thrive Speech and Wellness prefers that you remain onsite during your child's therapy session. We have a waiting room that is separate from the treatment area if you need a quiet area to wait and/or work. We understand that life in the DMV is busy with families juggling many extracurricular activities and appointments for siblings. If you are unable to stay for the duration of therapy sessions, please speak with us ahead of time to coordinate accordingly.
